More and more senior citizens are learning to use computers.

The computer age has arrived and the senior citizens are taking over it.  More and more  senior citizens are adapting to the user friendly websites such as DefragMyHardDrive.com.  It's no secret that most people on the internet are people under the age of 25, however the idea of the home computer has was around much longer than 25 years ago.  The computer age was thought of long before Star Trek.  As many of us remember Captain Kirk would often use a voice activated search engine.  The computer would quickly rattle off any answers that Kirk or Spock would ask.

So it is no wonder that many of the senior citizens in the computer age are comfortable using computers.  Many senior citizens find computers a useful tool.  Whether it is corresponding with grandchildren or finding inexpensive medication, senior citizens have made the home computer a useful tool.

However not all senior citizens are taking advantage of the internet.  Many senior citizens continue to believe the old myth, "You can't teach an old dog new tricks."  This is far from true for both people and dogs.  You are never too old to learn.  Learning is how we exercise our brain.

Exercising the mind is as important as exercising the body.  The brain needs a good workout.  So if you are over the age of 65 you need to not just take a daily walk, but you need to learn.  Give the brain a challange.  Learn a new language, study math, learn some geography, and memorize a few poems.

As the saying goes, "A mind is a terrible thing to waste."
