Adware

Some people have adware on the computer and do not even realize it.  They receive pop up ads constantly and think it is from a website.  You can have this annoying pop up removed.  Usually adware is installed along another free program yuu downloaded.  As we have mentioned in this site before if you are dowloading something that is free, you may actually be paying for it some other way.  Adware will make a new computer slow.  Adware can  create more computer problems than you really want to deal with.  Always make sure your anti-adware protection is updated.

Adware can slow down a pc to a crawl.

Not all free programs are exactly free.  Many toolbars, and free music sites promote their products heavily because they are getting something in return.  The Google toolbar for example has many cool features and in exchange for the cool features Google takes advantage of our search habits.  This is not such a bad trade off.  If you use Google already then most people do not see a problem with this.  However, not all toolbars are a the same.  Some toolbars alter your home page, redirect your searches from a Yahoo search engine or Google search engine to their own "sponsered only search engine".  You may also find your self receiving "pop ups" at sites you never received pop up ads before.  Another classic symptom of being infected with adware is constantly being asked to answer a survey. 

Fortunately adware is relatively easy to remove.  We recommend scanning your computer daily for adware.
